Ms. Oni's second grade students were recently caught practicing their reading fluency. Reading fluency helps build students' reading stamina as they begin strengthening both their comprehension and word analysis. Students pictured are facing away from one another to minimize distractions and stay connected to their text. Remember to Read 20 each night at home!

Get aboard the Reading Railroad at MVW! Our Accelerated Reading theme for this school year is Reading Railroad, and we want to encourage all our students to continue their love of reading. The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner has been chosen to begin our book journey. This chapter book will take you on an adventure with the lives of orphaned children who are tested on the skills of survival. We look forward to discussing this book and celebrating the adventure of reading with your child this school year!

Who's ready for some Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!? A warm cup of coffee with a fresh, hot doughnut makes the mornings brighter. Help our school fundraise by purchasing a box of original glazed doughnuts or one of our speciality boxes with kreme, lemon, raspberry, or chocolate iced. Don't forget we are also selling freshly ground coffee as well! Original glazed doughnuts are $12 and speciality boxes are $14. Thank you in advance for your support of our school.
