Ms. Rena brings a deep love for learning and years of dedication to Mary V. Wheeler Elementary. She has served our school community for six years as an educational assistant and seven years as PTO president, helping lead many school improvement efforts. Now, as our librarian, she is committed to sparking curiosity and guiding students on meaningful journeys through reading and exploration.
Mrs. Oakes looks forward to working closely with the children each day, helping them discover new books, build their imaginations, and grow their confidence as readers and thinkers. In addition to leading daily library classes from 7:45–2:45, she will also enhance our STEM program by offering hands-on STEM lab experiences twice a week. Through engaging experiments, problem-solving challenges, and creative projects, she will help students make connections between literature, science, and the world around them. Her goal is to create a vibrant space where learning comes to life and every child feels inspired.
